Instructions for Apply in SSC MTS Recruitment 2020-21
Candidates can apply for the SSC MTS 2020-21 (Tier-I Exam) through online mode only or before 05-Feb-2021 (till 11:30 pm). Procedure of filling the application form through online mode given here below:-- Firstly visit the official website of Staff Selection Commission https://ssc.nic.in/, and visit on Login section by filling Username and Password
- Click on Apply part of MTS (Multi Tasking Staff 2020-21) section.
- Candidates must have to read the important instructions carefully before filling the SSC MTS 2020-21 application form under "Instructions to Candidates".
- Then candidates have to fill basic required details in "Registration Part" i.e. Name, Father Name, Address, DOB, Education etc.
- And finally upload scanned photograph and signature in proper size and dimensions as described in" Instructions to Candidates". Then candidates need to pay an application fee.

Other Details
- Candidates must have passed 10th (High School) with good academic records from a recognized board.
- Application Fee Rupees 100 for General/OBC category that will be non-refundable. SC/ST/PH/Women/ExS candidates are exempted from paying application fees.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/ExS etc. categories is available as per government rules.
- Candidates age should be between 18-25 years as on 01-01-2021. The candidates should be born between 02-Jan-1996 and not later than 01-Jan-2003. Relaxation in age will be given as per government rules.

Mode of Selection
Selection process of SSC MTS Exam includes 2 Papers as indicated below:-
Paper-I (Computer Based Examination):
- Subjects: General Intelligence Reasoning (25 questions, Max. 25 marks), Numerical Aptitude (25 questions, Max. 25 marks), General English (25 questions, Max. 25 marks), General Awareness (25 questions, Max. 25 marks).
- Negative Marking 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Paper Type: Objective (Multiple choice questions in English and Hindi language)
Total Duration/ Timing
- For General Candidates: 90 minutes
- For Visually Handicapped/ Cerebral Palsy candidates: 120 minutes
Paper-II (Descriptive):
- Subjects: Short Essay/ Letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the constitution.
- Paper Type: Descriptive (Only be of qualifying nature and will be held only for such candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories)
- Max Marks: 50
Syllabus for Written Examination
Paper-I- General Intelligence: It would include questions of non-verbal type. The test will include questions on similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
- English Language: Candidates understanding of the Basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability would be tested.
- Numerical Aptitude: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
- General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
- The Paper will be set in English and Hindi and to the extent possible in other languages mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution to 13 test basic language skills commensurate with the educational qualification prescribed for the post. Candidates will be required to write one short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
